DETAILS

A TDS Meter indicates the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of a solution, i.e. the concentration of dissolved solids in it. Since dissolved ionized solids such as salts and minerals increase the conductivity of a solution, a TDS meter measures the conductivity of the solution and estimates the TDS from that.

Dissolved organic solids such as sugar and microscopic solid particles such as colloids, do not significantly affect the conductivity of a solution so a TDS meter does not include them in its reading.

Does the job

It’s not very much to look at but I do appreciate that it has both TDS and temperate readings.

FAQ

What does the TDS reading on a REACH-iT TDS meter mean for window cleaning?

TDS is the total dissolved solids in the water, in parts per million (ppm). At the brush, 0-10 ppm is spot-free. On the Check-iT the lights read: green 0-10 ppm, orange 10-150 ppm, red over 150 ppm. If your pure water reading starts to climb above spot-free, it's time to change the DI resin.

Which REACH-iT TDS meter should I buy?

Check-iT: an at-brush TDS meter that fits in-line on your tube, so you can check your water is spot-free before every climb. DUAL TDS Meter: the meter used in FLOW RED+, reads water in and out of the RO. TDS Meter: a basic meter that measures the conductivity of a water sample to estimate TDS.
