Can I add extensions later?
Yes. Buy the pole for the heights you clean most of the time, then add PLUS extensions when a job needs more reach. The extensions that fit this pole are listed in Build Your Reach above.
How do the extensions fit?
PLUS extensions fit into the middle of the pole, not onto the end. That adds rigidity where the pole needs it as you go higher. Build Your Reach above shows how much height each one adds.
Can I use it shorter for low windows?
Yes. The pole pulls apart, so you can take sections out and work with a shorter, lighter pole on lower windows.
Will it fit my existing brushes?
The pole comes with a pole to handle stem adaptor for REACH-iT brushes. To fit another brand's brush, add the Euro Thread Pole Tip.
What is the pole made of?
The pole sections are carbon fiber. The mix depends on the pole:
- MINI: 100% 24T carbon fiber
- TACTICAL: 40% 24T, 60% 40T high-modulus
- WARRIOR: 40% 40T high-modulus, 60% 46T ultra-high-modulus
- TACTICAL PLUS A & B: 100% 40T
- WARRIOR PLUS A & B: 100% 46T
What does the T mean in 24T, 40T and 46T?
T stands for ton. It's the carbon fiber's tensile modulus: a measure of stiffness, or how hard the fibers resist stretching under load. It's measured in tons per square millimeter. The higher the number, the stiffer the carbon, so the pole flexes less when you're working at height.
Why are the handle sections a lower modulus?
A pole's stiffness comes from the side wall of each section. The handle sections (5, 6 and 7) have a long side wall, so they barely flex. The higher-modulus carbon goes in the upper sections, where stiffness matters most.
What is SHOCKSTOP?
SHOCKSTOP is section 8, the insulator handle that comes with the pole. It's 100% Kevlar: non-conductive, and lighter than fiberglass. High-voltage (HIPOT) tested to 10,000 volts, so it reduces the risk of electric shock. It also works as an extension of up to 5 ft / 1.5 m.
